When our conversion business principal set out to outsource the manufacture of cold rolled galvanised steel to BMWIL, there were extensive apprehensions.

This was possibly the first time that the manufacture of galvanised cold rolled steel was being outsourced in the world.

The product and process warranted a high specialisation. Besides – and this is critical – BMWIL was not experienced in this product.

Most principals would not have outsourced; most vendors would not have volunteered.

The general estimation was that the plant would take at least six months to stabilise output and quality.

BMWIL addressed these challenges with method. Prudent equipment selection. Team training. Production planning.

The result was unexpected. The third production batch that the company rolled off its machines was cleared as fit for sale. The surprised principal started selling the end product from day one.  Besides, BMWIL’s product has withstood exposure to the elements across the last four years – without material erosion.

BMWIL leveraged its rich engineering insight to make it right first time.
